Aside from the occasional email and the nice workmen who came round to fix the frequently broken things, the landlord was lacklustre (to put it kindly). My personal highlight comes from when we received a letter from a bailiff who threatened to come round and repossess our furniture when it was actually the previous tenants who had not paid their council tax (because us students don't have to pay it!). I emailed the landlord to say hi, can you maybe sort this out? And he effectively replied with an "I'll collect the post on Tuesday" *thumbs up emoji* therefore leaving me to single-handedly deal with the council and the bailiff to stop the door getting kicked down the next day.
