Despite passing the entire reference process, the landlords decided to wait until after the tenancy agreement had been sent, with just 4 days before moving in, to ask for bank statements to "check fluidity of incoming and outgoings". Despite then being sent an alternative proof of funds in the form of our savings in "rainy day" investment accounts etc. The landlords then waited another two days before deciding to pull out due to a "strained relationship" and not wishing to continue the process. They then complained they were out of pocket, of course we were out of a place to live.
