He is charismatic and comes across well, however when the emergency services had to break into our property the landlord billed us as tenants over £1000 for the new back door. I was advised legally it was his responsibility to cover costs but that he has a good legal team so it wasn't likely to cost me more to fight it than the cost of the new door. Many insurance companies stated that this would be covered under their landlord insurance policies- however, my landlord insisted although he was insured it was not covered by his insurance and I would have to pay.
As a student it was such a horrific time having to find that money simply because I had been unwell. The rent already cost almost all my student loan!! After emailing my landlord and saying I would tell the university what had happened, he paid towards the cost, but not nearly half. Due to this horrible and scary experience I would not recommend this landlord
