Tenancy review for 115 Galingale View in Thistleberry, Newcastle rented from Vikas Bhatnager Bhatnager

Before the beginning of my tenancy and at the beginning he was constantly messaging and phoning. He was not quick at answering messages which he wasn't interested in later on. He had very strange expectations of what I was responsible for in the property. Took me ages to get my deposit back. He made great claims about the number of properties he rented out. I wish I had done a bit of background research before I took on the tenancy agreement. Property company is Kamla Vijay Limited.

4 bed townhouse overlooking one of the cells of the local landfill (Whalley's Quarry) which has been in the news a lot. Smell and gases from the landfill used to permeate the house often. It was also constantly dusty from the dust coming off the landfill.
House was bought by landlord from previous occupants, who had had the property from when it was first built and he did no decoration or updating from their occupancy. It could be a lovely house to live in if it was updated - walls painted / new carpets etc
The conservatory was unusable for most of the year. It was either far too cold due to no heating in there or ridiculously hot in summer. It was also prone to mould due to this. Main bathroom had no window so was prone to mould as well.
The walls are super thin - we could hear the neighbours frequent shouting matches and their dog sounded as though it was in our house!

Bus at the end of the street going up to Keele university and Newcastle town centre. Good road links to the motorway. House is on an estate about 12 years old with new houses just being built on the road along from the property. The Walley's Quarry landfill being visible from the bedroom and very close to the houses at the bottom of the road means it's not a great neighbourhood to live in. Lots of students live in rental properties on the estate.
