Renting from this estate agent was a nightmare from start to finish. The evening before the arranged move in day we recieved an email delaying the move by another week as was told the property hadn't been cleaned. We had already packed all our things and arranged a van! But worse, when we finally arrived, a week later, having been told it had been cleaned now, the property was in a terrible state; nail clippings, dead flies, cat litter over the floor, dried poo on the bathroom floor etc and we had to pay out of pocket for a professional clean. Then when we left, they with-held our deposit providing no evidence for why. They were incredibly unprofessional and illigally sent us directly to the dps dispute claim despite not providing any evidence of what they were charging us for. It has taken 3 months of stress and effort to get the money back. They also refused to come and do the check out report on move in day, which I believe was part of a deceptive scheme between them and the landlord to keep our deposit money. As they also did not give us the check out report so still unsure if they went in and made a mess after we left in order to claim money from us.
They were useless when the boiler in the property broke in the middle of winter. They were not contactable over the weekend, wouldnt give us an emergency number. We were left freezing and with no boiler for a week due to the landlord wanting 'a cheaper quote' from somewhere else, and even then, again refused to give us an emergency number. We paid rent of £1100 per month in 2024. Which I believe is higher than average for the area. Just awful awful rental experience. Beware.
