Angela Brook, Leeds

Landlord rating
We feel very fortunate to have had Angela as our landlord for nearly four years: she is friendly, considerate, and practical. Angela is also genuinely enthusiastic in encouraging her tenants to make the rental house and the village their home. Her close proximity to the property and the lack of a middle man makes it easy when questions arise or issues need to be resolved, and she makes for an ideal near-neighbour. We would very much recommend Angela (and Rose Cottage) to prospective tenants!

Rose Cottage, Micklefield, Leeds

Property rating
Rose Cottage is a characterful early 19th century cottage with a small, easily maintained garden and driveway parking for 2-3 cars. It is of a style unusual in the rental market and would suit those who prefer a more old fashioned property with a cosy but spacious feel. Interior highlights include the historic range and modern stone-flagged floor in the dining room, the newly renovated living room, and the extensive storage space provided by the walk-in wardrobe and eaves behind the master bedroom. The unusual layout would be ideal for those who want a dedicated home office or secondary living area. The cottage is situated at the quieter end of the village of Micklefield, amongst a number of other historic properties. We have loved living at Rose Cottage and will miss it!

Micklefield, Leeds

4 ★★★★☆
Area rating
We are staying in the village (no longer renting), so clearly we like it! Micklefield is brilliantly located for Leeds and York, including via regular trains from the village station, as well as almost immediate access to the M1, A1(M), and M62. Despite being just 15 minutes from either of those urban centres, it is very much a village in the countryside. Easy access elsewhere means the village does have relatively few amenities, and the pub has not been open post-pandemic, but there is a primary school, 19th century church, small convenience shop, and highly-rated takeaway, as well as the recreation ground. Popular attraction Lotherton Hall is also within walking distance and accessible via rights of way.
