Tenancy review for 1a Ladywell Road in Corstorphine, Edinburgh rented from Devina Mohabeer

Very demanding and easily angered by small things, and looking for an excuse to charge you. I tried to clean up whenever I can but she charged me £30 for 'leaving crumbs on the table'. When I mentioned the oven, that she promised would be fixed, she said it will eventually be fixed but it never was. Also banning people from using the living rooms is strange and controlling. My advise would be to look elsewhere.

For the expensive price you only got an upstairs bedroom and toilet, and a separate building outside the house as a kitchen. Living room downstairs was usually locked and you were forbidden from using them reserved for the landlord (which is absurd and not in the advert). Sharing the kitchen with 2 other renters and the oven did not work throughout my stay (even though landlord it would be ready by the time I arrived) and one of the fridges was not used by anyone as it smelled terrible. And there was no oven top except a cheap portable one you plug into the wall socket.

No where to socialise or hang out other than your room. Initially advertised for £690 but on the day of the visit she asked for more and had to email and demand for the original price. The house was clean and there was a double bed and a tv in your room but honestly look around and find somewhere else, I wish I did. For the price there are plenty of houses elsewhere, especially in the town centre, where you can get a full house, better facilities, and a nicer landlord. And transport within the city is good so looking elsewhere isn't difficult.

Local area is nice, there is the Edinburgh zoo nearby and town is not too far away. Loved the city, but again would recommend living somewhere else and explore the city when you do.
