Tenancy review for 35 Heol Alun in Faenor, Aberystwyth rented from Geraint Davies

Landlord was reasonably attentive, bit slow on repairs occasionally. One weekend the boiler went during a cold snap and it wasn't repaired for several days - I've never been so cold. LL did the classic stingy move of claiming the property was in a disgusting condition when we left (it wasn't) and withheld half of the £100 bond we all paid. Would've challenged that if I'd had the knowledge I have now.

4-bed property, very basic but decently clean student house. In 2018 furniture was old, cheap and mismatched. In one of the bedrooms the gas boiler is very loud at night. House has a funny smell. Also not well soundproofed - you can hear everything that's going on in the house. Radiator heating system.

Area rating: 3

Not many services in the area, and bus links to town are infrequent. Town is walkable in 30min, but you really do need a car if you want to live here. There's not much to do close by, and it's very quiet, which may or may not appeal!
