Tenancy review for 3 Claude Road in Plasnewydd, Cardiff rented via Capital Properties

When I first moved in to the property, it was filthy and one of the freezer drawers were broken, both of which I brought up to the agency at the time. They told me the make of the freezer was no longer sold which meant they couldn't replace the drawer, and although they told me they had cleaned the house after my complaint they clearly had not. Maintenance were pretty quick to respond to any issues I had during my tenancy and I don't have many complaints about them during this time, however since I have moved out they have wanted to charge me for things that are unjustified. They tried to charge me for the freezer drawer which they had already been made aware of, and they also want to charge me to reclean rooms in my flat, despite the fact that I left it cleaner than when I moved in. They are being completely unhelpful in dealing drugs with my queries, I asked for photos of damage that they claim I did but they sent me photos of the poorest quality where I couldn't even see what they were trying to highlight. Every time I email them it takes them days to get back to me, despite their claim that they want to help me get my deposit back as soon as possible. This issue is still ongoing but they have been completely unhelpful in sorting it out.

The property itself was really nice, everything worked fairly well (except the boiler which didn't work both when I moved in and when I left, but was fine for the rest of the time I was there). The rooms were a nice size and let a lot of light in.

It is a quiet area, with both students and families. Everyone is friendly, and although it is not the nicest area of Cardiff it feels safe. My road led out to Albany Road, a major shopping street and also Wellfield Road, and between these two there wasn't any need to venture into the town centre as all the essentials were a 5 minutes walk away. A lot of the shops are locally owned as well, and so it is nice to be able to get to know the people who work there and it makes it feel so much more homely.
