The landlords could be a little tricky to deal with at times, but often because they expected us to take their word for things and we didn't (especially when they were getting simple maths wrong, honestly, they're just a bit daft sometimes...). Basically, don't take any rubbish from them, and its unlikely you'll have issues.
The flat really could use some proper investment but in the meantime they were great fixing the boiler (which happened both winters) within 48hours, even over New Years.

The penthouse flat was so great that we stayed for two years. The balcony really made the place what it was! Having an incredible view over the city and all the extra outdoor space was amazing. It was tough to say goodbye!
Inside, the bedrooms were all equal sizes and light, although the flat was VERY warm in summer (often uncomfortably warm), but we saved a fortune on heating bills in the winter!
The bathrooms were good, but the landlords definitely need to invest in the bathrooms properly rather than just fixing little problems as they came up quite often. Six flights of stairs is a climb, but at least it saved me a gym membership for a couple of years! The kitchen and living space are perfect for six people, and easy to keep clean if you put a little effort in. Loved the flat so much, excited for the next people who get to call it home. The other thing is that the vast majority of tenants in the whole building are students. We threw MANY parties over 2 years, made lots of friends and had noise problems only once.
It really is amazing value for money, surprised they don't hike the price up more for the balcony.

Area review for Clifton Down, Bristol

Area rating: 10
Right next to the downs, bus stop just outside. Uni is a 20/25 minute walk. Clifton Down is only 10 mins away too. There is currently a building site next door (and its big), so between that and the petrol station on the other side, as well as the busy road and junction below, it IS quite loud there.
