We negotiated a two year tenancy with a one year break option (monthly rolling). We conceded on price and agreed asking if we could keep the break. The landlord did not want this but agreed.

Six months later he served eviction notice on us and said he'd sign a fixed term and "promised" he wouldn't raise the rent. We decided we would leave.

He skimped out on agency fees and did the viewings himself. Because he lives far away he insisted they were all done at once, so we had to leave for a day. He offered some money for lunch, but still a huge inconvenience.

He relet to the next tenants before our tenancy was up and tried to force us out before the end of our term. Of course there was no offer of a rent refund. When we insisted we needed these days to move out, he got funny with us and the relationship soured.

We returned the property in exactly the same condition as per the check in report. He commissioned a check out report (clearly cheap) which did not compare against the old report. He refused to hear reason and charged us for a clean. He also tried to charge us for furniture left behind that was actually his.

This man is a con artist and cares only for his rent. Will happily screw you. He will be really nice at the start and then will turn at the end.

All throughout the repairs were not done, or not done properly. The en suite was put of commission for 12 weeks of our tenancy. The handyman he employs is useless.

Avoid this man at all costs.
