This landlord is borderline a complete scammer and the way they operate is bordering on illegal. Firstly we have never been given contact information for them as they use a management company (that they set up). We had lots of problems when we moved into their property and asked to speak to them directly and they out right refused to talk to us.
They don’t seem to want to fix any problems that arise in their properties, and when they do it can sometimes takes forever. We spent a year sleeping on a mattress on the solid floor because they couldn’t be bothered to fix or buy a new bed after ours collapsed.
The management company is called Cohab Services. They are awful to deal with. They seem to have employed the most incompetent people to run the maintenance of the property. Like I said, they left us on the floor for a whole year. We had a problem with rats inside the walls behind the bed. They eventually refused to solve the problem in an email. We had a leak behind the wall in the bathroom that was causing large amounts of mould to grow. We reported it in December 2023 and it was not fixed and remained a problem when we left. The electrics in the building were broken, lights didn't work and the fire alarm system was broken constantly. They were condescending and argumentative to us via email and over the phone and we felt like they did not care about the maintenance and upkeep of the property let alone the health of those inside.
When we left, we celebrated the end of a long stretch of turmoil caused by these landlords.

The landlord were the same as the agency, and we were not given their contact details (which is illegal) until well into our tenancy. They did not want to resolve any of the issues we brought to them and instead attempted to villainize the house and ignore us in the hopes we would go away. In the end the council found the house was breaking numerous HMO regulations and codes.
