John does not own a computer or mobile, so contact was dependent on whether he was at home, which made it difficult to get in touch with him. He would frequently turn up to the property without giving notice, even after we pointed out that this was against the law. My bedroom had a glass door onto the garden and he would occasionally turn up and check the garden without asking, when I could have been getting changed. He would also tell us off for the way we used the garden (leaving cups on the table, putting up a tent in the summer). He was frequently patronising when speaking to female neighbours in the flat upstairs.
