The property is a disaster. First of all the rent is extortionate. £600 for a one bed- I thought that’s be okay because I’d save money on the other bills seeing as it’s just me in the house.
I was mistaken. The water is not on a metre so I am paying despite not using £35 of water a month. The electricity is also metered which is super old school but just more annoying than anything else. There is no gas to the house so the ‘central heating’ is two very old storage heaters. It was costing me £5 a day to heat the house. I looked at the EPC report for the place and realised that there is also NO INSULATION, not even a cavity wall.
The lack of cavity walls meant that the house was damp and cold and mould sprung up everywhere, despite sufficiently airing of the place.
Everything inside the house is cheap and nasty.
