Have you ever watched I’m a celebrity get me out of here, and thought “I’d love a crack at those bushtucker trials”? Then this is the house for you! You’ll be joined by a wide variety of insects, but the most loyal of housemates will be the spiders and slugs.

Except it isn’t really like a bush tucker trial, because it lasts a year not ten minutes, and Ant and Dec are replaced by incompetent letting agents and an apathetic, money-grabbing landlord.

The property wasn’t cleaned before we moved in, and there was literally(this isn’t an exaggeration, I literally mean literally) hundreds of maintenance problems that took months to fix. Admittedly I did grow fond of my broken bedroom door in the 4 months it took to fix it.

Imagine the worst DIY job you’ve ever seen. The kitchen is worse than that. The cupboard don’t have backs to them, and the spiders will often make a home for themselves in your saucepans. By the end of the year I honestly felt a bit guilty chucking them out.

In my the words of my mother, “this is the worst house I’ve ever been in, there’s not even a plug in the kitchen sink!”

But in the interest of fairness, there is a kitchen table, the sofa is alright and the fridge space is decent.

4 out of the 5 bedrooms are a decent size. The 5th is so small that even the slugs don’t go in there, they told us they find it a bit claustrophobic.
