The property was an 8 bed terraced house on college road, leading towards the university. It was dim and a bit battered but fit all of me and my friends in. It had a large living room and some large bedrooms, some small bedrooms to suit all needs. However, we did experience major problems with the work carried out- at one point it was discovered that by law there needed to be a 3rd toilet added to the property for the number of housemates. This was fitted into a previously blocked off cupboard. It did not flush, the tap water came out yellow, and the water in the bowl rose up high and was brown in colour with an awful smell. This remained so for 2 years. The top floor bathroom also clearly had some problems after the floor collapsed into the bathroom ceiling below, leaving us without either bathroom for months. Once again, when the work was being carried out, it was done to a low budget standard. The kitchen was very small for 8 people and it was very prone to mice.
However, it wasn't damp like some of the other houses on the same street!
