Tenancy review for Fairway Cottage Westwood Road in Huntingdonshire District, Saint Ives rented via Leaders

LEADERS in St Ives, Cambs.

Was bad from start to finish. Firstly noone accompanied me they just gave me the keys and sent me off, the property wasdirty and some of their contractors had broker a radiator valve, no key for the back garden for the first couple of months (the kids school holidays) then not much contact, house and landlord OK. Then a leak flooded the kitchen and I was told had sewage contamination so told I couldn't stay but they would reimburse my food and accommodation costs but then after I had paid out said that wasn't an option, terrible communication and dealt with gas and electricity bills in a way that I doubt was legal. Charged me £350 for a tenancy clean despite telling me when I had to have it cleaned to move in they wouldn't hold me to the clean at the end. The report stated what amazing condition I left the property in but they with held some of my deposit - really really terrible experience, tried to make a formal complaint but they made it so difficult in the end I sadly just gave up.

Property dirty when I took possession but good size 3 bed with large garden. Paint work not that great, just painted over tiles and peeling in places. Couple of giant cracks in walls

Area was quite good, the school next door gave a few issues with kids climbing in the garden etc 10 min walk to town
