At the start of the tenancy, the agency was friendly, supportive and helpful however during the commencement of the tenancy, I found the agency to become more and more difficult to deal with. The staff were patronising, unhelpful and on most occasions were unsure of their job roles and the information they were sharing. Examples of these included misinformation, unsure of certain details pertaining to the property itself, not following legal obligations in reference to advertising and displaying information, sharing the landlord's details and using the tenancy contract as their 'go to' when issues were raised. An example of their unreliability and undermining tactics involved telling a professional engineering company to not speak to me as a customer, as they were giving me incorrect information and lying in order to manipulate the situation.

As like the previous reviews Ormskirk Lettings are lucky to get even one star, constant problems with flat which took ages to be resolved, poor contact and rapport with tenants.

OSL is a horrible company, the staff are rude and do not follow up on any issues raised with them (we had a broken back door that would barely close and wouldn't lock, I missed 3 days of uni waiting for them to fix it as we could not leave the property without it being locked). Money grabbing mother and son duo will do anything they can to make you sign but the manners soon stop once they have the paperwork.

If I could give Ormskirk Lettings a 0 rating out of 10 I would. They are unprofessional, arrogant and bullying, and lack a moral compass.

When challenged about their behaviour they responded by saying they were being threatened. They refused to disclose their in-house complaints procedure, which redress scheme they were a member of, and refused to take a complaint from me.

I had to go through a lengthy process of reporting them to Ombudsman Services-Property (the redress scheme they were a member of). The Ombudsman found in my favour and they were required to pay me compensation, and carry out other remedial actions. They ignored the binding requirements of the Ombudsman within the permitted stipulated timeframe displaying their arrogance and disregard for everyone.

During the period of the investigation they carried on with their unprincipled business practices, and still are although I cannot give details here as there are ongoing investigations into these.

The only advice I would give anyone here and based on my own experience with this company is please think extremely carefully before signing anything with Ormskirk Lettings as they are most definitely not fit for purpose in my opinion, and I can stand over everything I've said here with supporting documentary evidence.

Ormskirk Lettings are the worst letting agency I have ever rented a property from. The staff were unorganised, never replied on time, and the manager, Leslie, was straight out rude. We only got our washing machine and desks (which were promised to us in our contracts) after one and two months, respectively, of repeatedly emailing the agency and finally threatening to hold back rent.
We never got our deposits back, but weren't given a reason for this. It was only after repeated enquiry that we were told we wouldn't get them back because one of the tenants hadn't paid his rent and bills. To this day (we moved out ten months ago) they haven't confirmed the amount of owed bills (for which we were jointly liable), which cannot add up to the amount of our three deposits.
When speaking to the staff about any issues in person, they always told us to email them. When emailed, they hardly ever replied.
