I would have given zero stars if not for the landlords’ attentiveness when something went wrong inside the flat, which was at an ok standard. There was constant damp in one corner of the living room. The heating simply escapes the flat (although it’s a large space so that’s expected) One ongoing issue was the noise from upstairs—we could always hear footsteps, which we eventually got used to. However, when new tenants moved in, things got significantly worse. They frequently hosted loud parties, sometimes more than twice a week, often on weeknights, and these would continue into the early hours of the morning. Despite multiple complaints to the police and the landlords, the landlords showed no concern.

The situation became even more worrying when party guests regularly left the building’s front door wide open (the front door needs to be closed firmly) raising serious safety concerns—we even encountered homeless individuals in the stairwell. There was also evidence of drug use in the upstairs flat, yet the landlords did absolutely nothing to address it.

To make matters worse, when our tenancy ended, they raised the rent by £900 per month without offering any improvements or solutions to the issues we had experienced. We were very glad to leave.
