Re. Flat 2, no. 8 Palmerston Road. I rented a property from Arkasian in 2018 for 16 months. It was a game to them, but this was mine and my daughter's lives; this was our home.
They rented me a property with soooo many ongoing issues:
An ant infestation
An inadequate back door which keeps the flat permanently cold, and a faulty boiler which broke down frequently
Mold in the property which caused damage to my property to the tune of £150+ ( not to speak of mould spores in the air - I was concerned about my health and safety and that of my child.
Arkasian ignored my desperate correspondences pleading with them to address these issues.
In despair, I reported Arkasian to my local council who immediately intervened and gave them a deadline to attend to the issues, particularly the insulation and mould issues.
In addition, they charged me £150 for a rent reference which they would not provide to me. I reported them to the Property Ombudsman who mandated them to reimburse me fully. I sought a Subject Access request to gain a copy of the rent reference in which they had stated inaccurate information.
I would describe Arkasian as callous. Beware.
