Neighbourhood and local area reviews for renting in Reading

Quiet and pleasant enough. Good access to the motorway and the train station. Only positive thing about it.

Apart from the begging outside Tesco the area is ok transport is fantastic 24 hour bus service

The house is on a fairly busy cut through but has good local schools and transport links.

This is a regular 1 bedroom flat in the Rose Kiln neighbourhood of Reading. I rented it for its proximity to the city centre and railway station.

Quiet and friendly with lots of nice neighbours who are happy to help with parcels etc

Area was nice, restaurants and shops nearby. There was a big park as well but that is about it.

The area can be very loud where there are often drug dealers hanging around. Lidl and Tesco are close.

It was very pretty with trees and lawns around the building. Later on, we saw/learned that druggies liked using the area for doing drugs and that they lived in one of the other buildings in the area. That is not something the landlord or agency could do anything about, but if we had known, we would not have moved into the apartment. We found used syringes and dirty mattresses in the area and there was one particular place where the druggies like to do their toilet business - close to the walking path.
