The property was functional- cold, drafty and a fire alarm that never shut up, but functional. Only a few safety concerns with the oven door as it swung shut. There were often slugs in our house.

However, when we got there the garden was covered in leaves and weeds. We tidied it and made the space usable. Despite improving the space we entered, due to some weeds still being in the garden, our landlord deducted money off our deposit to make the garden better. I can’t say if he did the changes he charged us for but the garden definitely was in better condition when we left.

Rooms were generally equal and had good facilities. Wood flooring was a really nice touch, or would have been were it complete. I could wiggle my finger through the basement. The novelty of this wore off quite quickly however and it would have been nice not to feel the cold basement air in mid-January between my toes. Otherwise, cracks aside, it was spacious enough, well organised and only had one window-sill that had been ripped out and wedged back in.

The rooms were all fairly spacious with the same desks/wardrobe/mirrors, making it easier to doll out rooms. The kitchen/lounge was spacious and good for socialising. The property was great for slugs in the ground floor rooms. There were gaps between the skirting boards and the floors in many places so we also got critters in bathrooms and bedrooms. Some rooms were freezing at night despite the heating being on.
