Original listing:
“This property is on the second floor (with lift) of Troy Court, a portered building on Kensington High Street. It has a large double bedroom with plenty of builtin wardrobe space, a smaller second bedroom ideal for a child or study and a good-sized reception room. There is a recently refurbished kitchen, bathroom, and guest WC and the property has been recently redecorated and re-carpeted throughout. The property is at the rear of the building so there is no traffic noise. Troy Court has one of the nicest teams of porters in Kensington and furthermore the heating and the heating of the hot water is included in the rent so there are no huge gas bills! High Street Kensington Underground Station (District and Circle Line) is only a short walk, there is a Waitrose just opposite and as you can imagine, there are a whole host of amazing shops bars and restaurants moments from your apartment, not to mention the beautiful Holland Park just to the rear of the block - you would be hard pushed to find a flat in a better location!. Actual property conditions:
It has a large double bedroom equipped with a "vintage" DIY wardrobe from the 90s, featuring the charm of wobbly MDF shelves, a smaller second bedroom ideal for a child (if you hate your child) featuring the building's main heating pipe artistically concealed behind a plasterboard enclosure.

There is a recently (poorly) refurbished kitchen featuring a greasy extractor canopy, a bathroom which offers an exclusive spa experience with a radiator that’s perpetually on. Conveniently, the toilet is placed near this eternal flame, ensuring your knee receives a warm welcome – or a first-degree burn. The guest WC maintains a consistent aromatic experience that reminds you of nature – if nature was a sewage plant.

The property was last redecorated a mere 18 months ago, so any requests for a fresh coat of paint post-move-in, even if it was agreed with your offer, will be met with wide-eyed disbelief (and a firm no). After all, redecorating more than once every couple of decades is apparently an outrageous luxury! Speaking of decades, the flat was re-carpeted throughout in 1992. The property is at the rear of the building so there is no traffic noise, but there’s plenty of homeless and junkies hanging around, so you will never feel lonely (and you will barely sleep). Troy Court has one of the nicest teams of porters in Kensington. Thy take pet care to the next level by visiting your cats when you're away – a surprise service you discover through the joys of home surveillance.

Furthermore the heating and the heating of the hot water (when we don’t need to drain down the water pipes and shut the water supply twice a month and if gas prices don’t rise above what we can afford to pay) is included in the rent so there are no huge gas bills!
