I experienced constant humidity, damp, and insulation problems in this flat from the day I moved in. The flat does not retain heat, the walls trap moisture, and the air quality becomes unhealthy very quickly even with ventilation and dehumidifiers. These are long-standing structural issues, not tenant-related.
The landlords were aware of these problems before I arrived. I recently learned that three previous tenants left this same flat within the last year to year and a half for exactly the same reasons — persistent damp, humidity, and a poorly insulated property. Despite this history, no meaningful repairs or improvements were made before re-renting it.
When I reported the issues, the response from the landlords was dismissive and defensive. Instead of addressing the root cause, I was repeatedly blamed for the conditions, even though humidity readings, photos, and professional advice all confirmed the problems are structural. Any inspections they arranged were superficial and did not result in proper repairs.
Overall, the property is unhealthy to live in, the insulation is extremely poor, and the landlords’ handling of the situation has been unhelpful, minimising, and lacking responsibility. Future tenants should be aware that these issues are not new — they are ongoing and unresolved.
