Landlord rating
The landlords, Mr. Oswald and his wife, consistently failed to take the damp, humidity and insulation problems in this flat seriously. Despite repeated reports and clear evidence, their response was slow, dismissive, and focused more on defending themselves than fixing anything. Instead of addressing the root causes, they repeatedly implied the issues were due to my “habits” rather than acknowledging the well-known structural problems in the property.
When they eventually sent someone out, it was always a quick, superficial check with no lasting repairs. There was never any sense of urgency, accountability, or responsibility for providing a healthy living environment. Communication was vague, passive, and at times felt like an attempt to minimise or invalidate the problems I was living with.
What makes it worse is that I recently learned that three other tenants left this same flat within the last year to year and a half — all because of the exact same issues: severe humidity, damp, and poor insulation. This clearly shows that the landlords were fully aware of the state of the property long before I moved in, yet chose to continue renting it out without fixing the underlying problems.
Their handling of the situation has been negligent, dismissive, and extremely stressful, and future tenants should be aware that these issues are longstanding and unresolved, not one-off or tenant-related.

Property rating
I experienced constant humidity, damp, and insulation problems in this flat from the day I moved in. The flat does not retain heat, the walls trap moisture, and the air quality becomes unhealthy very quickly even with ventilation and dehumidifiers. These are long-standing structural issues, not tenant-related.
The landlords were aware of these problems before I arrived. I recently learned that three previous tenants left this same flat within the last year to year and a half for exactly the same reasons — persistent damp, humidity, and a poorly insulated property. Despite this history, no meaningful repairs or improvements were made before re-renting it.
When I reported the issues, the response from the landlords was dismissive and defensive. Instead of addressing the root cause, I was repeatedly blamed for the conditions, even though humidity readings, photos, and professional advice all confirmed the problems are structural. Any inspections they arranged were superficial and did not result in proper repairs.
Overall, the property is unhealthy to live in, the insulation is extremely poor, and the landlords’ handling of the situation has been unhelpful, minimising, and lacking responsibility. Future tenants should be aware that these issues are not new — they are ongoing and unresolved.
