We did not meet the landlord and all communication and repairs was done via the estate agent, Tapton Estates.
Repairs were often very lengthy with the bathroom taking around 8 months to be completed being the longest such repair. Many times, repairs were unfinished too- radiators were left unplumbed at the end of a job. Tapton’s communication was normally quick besides a few occasions but was sometimes unkind.

Property review for 265 School Road, Crookes And Crosspool, Sheffield

The property was large and spacious with 5 bedrooms in a Multiple Occupancy house. However, there were many problems with the house as listed briefly below:
The property was advertised as fully-furnished but when we turned up, there were only 3 usable chairs, the others broken. They then tried to accuse us of having broken these. -We were promised that the 1st floor bathroom would be finished when given to us. But instead, there was a leaky radiator, unfinished walls and shower, a hole in the external wall and no lock on the door in a MO bathroom. -The back garden's state suggested nobody had tended to it in at least 2 years. It was also a tip of rubbish with a disused table and road sign. The front garden had a literal skip placed on it for around 2 months filled with rubbish from other Tapton properties. -When our boiler failed and we rang all three emergency contacts, we did not get a response from anyone until the next day when I emailed them the afternoon after. Had the problem turned out to be more severe, we would have been stranded without help.

A brilliant community with close access to a variety of different shops and not too far from the university. Bus routes very close by but a steep hill to climb from the city centre.
