Landlord rating
Our experience with this landlord was extremely disappointing. Communication was consistently difficult, he was unresponsive, unhelpful, and often came across as rude and dismissive when we did manage to get in touch. The property itself was in a poor state when we moved in, with several issues that were never properly addressed despite being reported.
We made a real effort to leave the house in a far better condition than we found it, yet we were still unfairly charged from our deposit without reasonable explanation. Overall, it felt like we were treated with little respect due to us being students. I wouldn’t recommend renting from him.

The house was in a terrible state when we moved in. It was dirty, badly finished, and clearly not looked after. It felt like no effort had gone into making it liveable or comfortable. What made things even worse were the neighbours. We had constant issues, including some really unsettling behaviour like them posting hair through our front door. We had to call the police several times because it became so frequent. Overall, the property was stressful to live in and didn’t feel safe. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a decent place to live.

Area rating
The best thing about the area is the location. It is really close to both university campuses and only about a fifteen minute walk into the city centre. However, the area can feel a bit unsafe at times, especially at night. There were a few situations where I didn’t feel entirely comfortable walking home. Noise was also an issue on some streets, depending on your neighbours and how busy the road is. The houses in Highfield can be quite hit or miss. Some are fine, but a lot are quite old or badly maintained. It really depends on your landlord and the exact street.
