Every now and then the gulley drain outside the front door will overflow with the building’s sewage which is not meant to be connected to the sewers, it should be connected to the surface water drains which is illegal. Whether or not this is ignored due to the age of the building is unclear.

Positive: the flat stays cold in the summer and is pretty easy to heat in the winter. Water pressure from being in the basement is very good.
