Letting agent reviews for Bruten and Co, Notting Hill Gate

My experience with Brutens and specifically the only woman working there (it's a 2 man band, husband and wife from what I gathered, don't want to name her), has been an exercise in how to treat people with zero respect.

The woman operates with a bullish, 'final word' attitude that is frankly embarrassing for a professional agency. She consistently relies on intimidation tactics, seemingly counting on tenants not knowing their legal rights so she can push them around. It is a textbook case of someone using their position to try and scare or bully people into compliance.

It says everything you need to know about her competence that the property eventually had to be listed with a completely different agency to get results. If you value your peace of mind and don't want to be bullied by someone who hides behind a 'legal' authority they clearly don't understand, avoid this place!!!!

I believe they are the worst. They bully customers and have no manners or respect. I tried to rent a flat with them back in 2014, however, after I paid the deposit and signed the pre-contract, they rent the flat to someone else and they didn't notify me about it. The day I was supposed to get the keys, they didn't reply to my emails so I went there and the agent told me he doesn't have time to talk to me and I have to book an appointment with him!! Very rude to me and my father! His name was Sam Jones, He wasn't answering my questions and told me that I have to leave the agency and book an appointment to talk about the money they owed me. It took 4 months for them to send my deposit back by cheque, without apologizing. I had to move to a hotel for a week, cost me more than £400! I never forget the way they treated us in their office in Notting hill gate! Imagine I was there to get my keys to move in, but instead, a rude person telling me that agency rented the flat to someone else and If I have a problem with that I have to book an appointment and come back to the agency later! a few years later they tried to remove my remove from one of the review websites by accusing that I never been their customer and I'm and fake account! The admin of the website contacted me because he was suspicious of their accusation, I sent the admin all the documents and bank transactions that I had with Bruton & Co. so they kept my review. It's been 5 years and I'm still waiting for their apology.
