Landlord reviews for Josephine Vercoe in Bath

I have been renting for a number of years and have never come across the level of brazenness we have experienced at the hands of this Landlord. The fact that she can treat tenants with zero respect with all the regulation currently in place, speaks volumes about the system and how she has used it to her advantage. We rented her Sheridan Road property in Bath.... let this be a warning, do not fall for her money making charms, ie she will offer you a cleaning contractor friend at the end of your tenancy costing you hundreds so she can get her place back in better condition than you got it at your expense, she will retain ALL your deposit even if you go to huge lengths to return her property in a better state than you received it, she will charge you for unnecessary upgrades and claim they were repairs due to tenants negligence and you won't find this out til the end , she will beat her husband to a pulp mentally in front of you because she needs an audience for this shockingly ( we were highly embarrassed watching this play out in our kitchen) , she will point out movements in furniture (even just a few cms in floor-boarded rooms, claiming you moved the sofa and deduct for this from your deposit, she will claim you caused wear and tear deliberately in properties that are multiple occupancy . She will not give any notice of her arrival mostly and on the rare days she does, she will come outside the communicated time. Well this is only a tiny bit of the problems we have had with her . So we have a landlord who is obviously deducting for expenses legitimately and simultaneously charging tenants for same.... HMRC, wake up! She mainly deals with foreign students as they are less likely to following up regarding deposits and are naive to the system. GDPR has served her well in being able to remove posts such as these. When will the council do something about her.... as for her agent, can they report this lady, it is your duty, you know what she is capable of and how much she has scammed students and have sanctioned this by your silence and putting profit ahead of integrity. Shame on you....

I would give her a minus rating if I could . She must be the most facilitated lawbreaking landlord in the system … I rented one of her hillside properties but apparently she has many , 40 properties or so . shock horror !
I had a former tenant call to my door a few months back warning us not to pay the final months rent as we wouldnt get out final deposit back . We were worried about ongoing references and stupidly paid it and unfortunately we are now borrowing to fund our next deposit and rent. . We are poor students and this is very distressing and we have no way of getting it back as she pulls every trick in the book and has been doing so for years .. changing agents , charming judges , the deposit scheme , the Council . So glad I found this website … another bad review under Josephine Vercroe ( miss spelling ) . She needs to be locked up .

The landlady had the kitchen floor removed and never replaced it leaving an uncleanable plywood mess for the last few months of the tenancy. She did come to fix things but was very rude to her partner in the process. She completely ripped the tenants off at the end of year with regards to the deposit. She took weeks (and reminders) to reply. She charged extortionate amounts for things that were left as they were found. These couldn't be fought because she made up a separate list of 'good will gestures' that she should charge us for but wouldn't as long as we accepted the original fees. This list involved charging us for her visiting her own property, the disposal of taps that she decided to fix at our expense, despite them not being broken and so on.
