The property was, for the most part, in what I would call 'below average' condition. The inept DIY handiwork of the landlord was all over the place and things that could have been simple fixes made worse by this. The carpets had been laid badly and the wooden flooring in the kitchen and bathroom were in poor shape, with loose nails and peeling laminate.

The bedroom window was dangerously broken - unable to hold itself open and falling freely if pushed up. The landlords openly neglected to fix this when brought to their attention. I also had to fix the wardrobe doors myself as some were barely functional.

The biggest issue by far was the state of the bathroom, which ultimately led to the early termination of the lease. The floor below the bath was heavily deteriorated and the sales on the bath completely inadequate. This caused leaks bad enough to collapse the ceiling of the flat below and over a period of several months afterwards this was not properly fixed.

Reasonable 1 bed flat with south facing living room. However, the bathroom has a manor mould issue on the ceiling and the landlord's suggestions that you use a dehumidifier and open the windows do not solve this, and you will be blamed for it.
