Poor communication and lack of professionalism.
The landlord they represent appears to operate unethically. Despite collecting deposits with the stated purpose of addressing repairs and replacements, these funds are not being used as outlined in the contract.
While we accepted the flat with prior knowledge of the damages, its overall condition upon move-in was poor. The sofa had large areas of torn leather, the kitchen cabinets showed visible bubbling, the mattress was stained and unhygienic, wooden floor boards were loose, mould was present, and the general cleanliness was unacceptable (we even found leftover items under the bed and between the sofa cushions from previous tenants, so I doubt a “professional cleaner” checked and cleaned the flat).
Despite these pre-existing issues, we had a significant portion of our deposit unfairly deducted. We have caused zero further damage in the 6 months living there. We raised these concerns with the agents, who now claim the landlord is unresponsive. It’s been over two months with no resolution. The entire process feels exploitative.
