When the shower was leaking through the ceiling she sent her elderly father to bash the ceiling in with a hammer, and then he screwed on a spare bit of particle board over the hole. It remained that way for the entire 8 years I lived there. Any plumbing issues she sent her brother/in-law on his day off to deal with. Spent an entire year without a back wall for the garden. Refused to replace broken blinds. Said about a shelf that was falling out of the wall "well keep it up or I'll remove it but it's not getting repaired." Said she'd replace the front door threshold when we were moving in; is only doing it now we've moved out 8 years later. Ignored a huge rising damp problem for multiple years and, per the neighbours who we're still in contact with, she's just plastered up the cracks and painted over the damp. I rented from her so long purely because she kept the rent so cheap (you get what you pay for).... and then started saving for a mortgage when she raised it to the average for the road, despite the condition she'd let property decline into from not doing repairs, or doing shoddy repairs when we begged for weeks to get them done. Don't rent from this neglectful and disrespectful woman.

The property was fine until she let all repair work go by the wayside and it became harder and harder to manage. The rising damp in the front room reached 2 metres high and she still wouldn't call an inspector.
