Problems started on the very first day we moved to the flat.
The landlord was asked to clean the flat before we entered. They accepted and a clause was added to the tenancy agreement that said the landlord was going to have the flat professionally cleaned. That never happened, the landlord didn't clean the flat and we found dust on every surface, the oven hadn’t been cleaned in months and there was an insect infestation. The landlord and the agency kept pretending the flat had been professionally cleaned until I thretened to escalate the issue to the property ombudsman and to the local council. They conceded the flat hadn't been professionally cleaned and promised they won't require me to clean it after I leave. Still we had to spend 3 days cleaning the flat and dealing with the infestation.
Now he/she is refusing to carry out repairs and suggested that we should leave if we are not happy with it.
