Landlord reviews for Simon Galkoff in Birmingham

Awful landlord. Do not rent from Simon & Susan Galkoff. Delayed our move in time. When we moved in we still didn’t have a kitchen floor, bedrooms weren’t finished, painting left undone, wires hanging out the wall not connected so we couldn’t even install our wifi we had paid for. It was an en-suite house and my shower didn’t work for a full month of living there as they had done the plumbing wrong, but landlord kept saying he’d send contractors to fix it and that that had ordered parts but they never did until after a month of begging and plenty of reports. Had raw sewage leaking out by the back door on three occasions, again said contractors would be sent after eventually getting hold of him and yet again, did not. Then blamed it on us and said we would have to pay even though one of the times it happened when no one had been at the house for a month so clearly was a plumbing issue. Never finished the garden, ripped up the previous paving slabs and fences and left a huge pile of rubble with sharp items in for the whole nine months we were there, which then became infested with families of rats. Additionally in the garden left a two foot deep hole in the garden in the alleyway, which some people actually tripped down and could’ve resulted in serious injury. The rubble left prevented us from being able to ge tour of the main alleyway so stopped access to fire escapes which was extremely dangerous. Also a skip and large amount building material was left out the front, which then the council threatened to fine us for even though it belonged to him but he would not clear it away despite our reports. He’s charging me for a smashed bathroom mirror, which smashed and fell off the wall while I was out the house due to it being poorly stuck on with a bit of hot glue, could’ve seriously injured me if I was barefoot in there at the time. No compensation given and numerous more issues through staying there yet would refuse to send anyone out to fix them when the letting agent asked. Stay as far away from renting from them as possible, such an awful experience, do not recommend.
