Chapel Street itself is a gorgeous location with great transport links. The only reason I would return to X1 Chapel Street is to enjoy GK, the art gallery and cafe situated next door to the building.

Chapel Street was fantastic. The area is clean , bright and safe and hosts some of the nicest cafes and shops in Salford. It is also very close to Manchester, at only a 10 minute walk from Manchester Arndale, making it very good for people that travel towards the city.

Next to Tesco and a great chinese takeaway, what more could you want. Also has easy access to the number 50 bus to uni.

Close to the University, shops, and local transport routes such as buses, trains and trams.
A student area.
Not the safest, there have been break-ins on the street.

The area is pretty good for going into the city centre. Obviously, it's advisable to be cautious when going out at night and there is an issue with people trying to steal bikes and motorbikes from the car park. Bramall does have a bike shelter which is (sort of) secure. The police are often called out to the neighbouring building and there's been lots of problems from them this year. On the bright side, it is only a 20 minute walk to the Arndale and a 15 minute walk to Salford Uni's main campus. 10 minutes walk away is the bus stop for the number 50 bus to Media City which is free for Salford students. The only other downside is that the nearest supermarket to get to on foot is the Aldi at the Arndale, which is always extremely busy. However, you can take the 50 bus to Salford Shopping City which is a lot quieter.

Very quiet area, and only some noise when the children and teenagers from local schools pass in the morning and afternoon.

The house is joined to the neighbours (also a student property), but there is rarely noise disturbance. There is a garage next door, but this has surprisingly little impact on us.

Some litter from the pavement often comes onto the drive, but this is maintained well by the gardener/landlord and wouldn't take too long to clear up yourself.

There is a few local shops 100m up the road, and more slightly further including a doctors and an Aldi. 15 minutes on the bus towards Swinton there is an Asda, Morrisons and an Aldi. There is also a main bus route towards town and University of Salford (10 minutes - max - to Salford Shopping City and 20 minutes to UoS).

The area is mainly residential and quiet, and only gets busy during rush hours on the main road. At night it is extremely quiet and peaceful. We have had no issues with crime or disturbances during my 2 years living on Bolton Road.
