The rent was overpriced, it was just a cash cow. The landlord was not interested in the welfare of the tenants, he just wanted his money. Landlord was reported to the council, due to the condition of the property. Turns out, he had been reported every year.

When we moved in, an apparent end of tenancy clean had been carried out. Do not let the agency or landlord fool you, we had vomit in our sofa's, black mould, water coming through the light fixtures, leaks, and a roof that kept on leaking into the upstairs bedroom. We also had no heating for 2 weeks in the middle of the winter, the landlord was informed but was extremely slow to act.
