Tenancy review for 18 Stanley Street in Ormskirk, Ormskirk rented from Graham Lucy

The Landlord has a habit of coming round, and letting himself into the property, giving zero notice. I am aware of previous tenants having similar issues with him, despite him being legally required to give 24 hours notice. He enters the property during the holiday periods assuming none of the tenants will be there, which is not always the case. There have been instances when he has let himself in when tenants are in bed due to working nights shifts, which can be an extremely uncomfortable and scary when you are in the house alone and as none of the rooms have locks from the inside. He has zero respect for his tenant's privacy. He doesn't trust students and makes this very clear, through condescending lectures about taking the bins out and having the heating on. The property is nice but the landlord completely ruins it, hence why none of his tenants stay for more than a year. Also be aware that despite the tenancy contract running til July, as most courses end in May, students who have vacated the property to move back home, even though they have paid rent up til July, the landlord moves random people in over the summer, be aware of this if you are staying til the end of your tenancy, you'll be sharing the house with random people and have nothing to do about it as the contracts are based on individual rooms.

House is nice and the rooms are spacious although the 2 rooms that are off the living room/kitchen area are very noisy - you can hear everything that is happening in the living room and kitchen. No locks on the inside of any of the bedroom doors - which none of us were aware of when we moved in - I have personally had instances of my flatmates guests walking into my room at 3am by mistake so the house can feel unsafe when you are in there on your own. Any tenants with cars should be made aware that they will be sharing the car park with the 2 other student houses next door, so space can be cramped.
