Neighbourhood and local area reviews for renting in London

Not much happening apart from London Excel. Very quiet. Not my preference hence the one star

The area is fine. Nothing much around and quite unsafe, but across the tube tracks by the ExCel it's lovely. No proper supermarket within easy reach.

Right on Regents Park and Primrose Hill. Easy to walk to Camden, Chalk Hill or St John's Wood High St.
Only one bus route and bit of a walk to the closest tube. Late night road noise from the traffic junction and racers around the outer circle.

Never safe to leave motorcycle or bike in the parking and there is no lamp or something where you can chain. Local thugs often visit the area and nicked few motorcycles.

It was close to shops and the tube was across the road. Luckily the road itself was very quiet. Very handy for getting into the city where I work. Stepney Green is very nearby too.

Although there isn't much in the immediate area, there are new, exciting places opening quite often including directly on the development. Vauxhall is a 10 minute walk away and I cycle everywhere when the weather is good - Soho in less than 30 mins, Battersea in 10, Brixton in 15.

Nice area with lots of shops and cafes nearby. Lots of pubs and restaurants. Good public transport.

No problem with the local area. 10 minute walk to tube links. Very close to bus links.

Landlord claims 5 min walk to Balham tube but even as long-legged fast walker it was near 10. Bus handy for Streatham/Balham, plenty shops on Balham high road. Feel safe walking home at night. Area is expensive, but cheaper than Clapham or nearer high road, location is officially Tooting and access to common is easy (no view of it from flat), few minutes walk down street.
