The only thing it has going for it is the close proximity to the local train station and shops and the area in general is peaceful and quiet with a park being just at the end of the road.

Great neighbourhood if you like eating out, walking in the canal, shopping in small independent labels and buying from markets. Saturdays are rather overcrowded with tourists though, as the flat is right next to the famous Portobello Rd market.

I couldn't fault the neighborhood to be fair - the street was quite quiet, and there was a train station/bus links about 5 mins away.

Not the best neighbourhood but the rent reflected that. Shops (retail parks) nearby were great; you could get literally anything you wanted on foot.

No complaints about the neighbourhood. Close to station, sometimes there's a few odd people around, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Very modern half-gentrified area which has resulted in an extremely awkward (and sometimes tense) atmosphere. Nice walk around the wildlife reservoir. Restaurant is expensive with poor quality food, shops are pricey and there's virtual no soul/culture.

I have lived with CityRooms for a One year contract from August 2018 to August 2019. Firstly they always seem to pressure you into putting a holding deposit for rooms without a viewing. As well as booking rooms without viewing them first. However they do accept if you rather choose to wait in order to book a viewing and "risk" the room being taken by someone else.

Secondly, the only good point is that they are fairly competent when you wish to report issues. Some came up due to the landlord; such as a family of 5 (two adults and 3 children under 10 years old, including a new born baby) moving into one of the 4 rooms of my house share, which is obviously not allowed. Other cases include, blocked sinks, broken kitchen appliances and rats. They are pretty swift when it comes to repairs but these are often, such as the rodent problems.

Thirdly, they are poor when it comes to customer aftercare. They withhold deposits and leave you in the dark if you approach staff with any questions about anything you or Cityrooms needs to do, unless you have agreed to extent your contract with them, or wish to find another room with them.

And finally, whether or not you provide evidence of your room being in exactly the same condition as you found it when you arrive. They will still charge you for cleaning. This part of the process was very disheartening as it made me feel as though they are just trying to squeeze as much money out of me as they can before I leave.

So if you wish to get a room quickly, with an extremely swift sign up process, this company is ideal. However, you will be under contract and you will be under their grasp and you will concur a lot of fees and put your well-being at risk, as most of their properties (having viewed 4) have been undersized, overpriced and lack in cleanliness).

The neighbourhood is a low income area, which shows. The people are nice, but it's not an area I'd recommend living in - it's grim, badly maintained and dirty. Quite a few "moped muggers" operate in the area, and even increased police presence did not help.

One of the best neighbourhoods in London. Nothing bad to say about the area and no reflection on this truly garbage property.
