Neighbourhood and local area reviews for renting in Southampton

The freeholder lives downstairs and he's a nightmare. Very nosey and complains about everything. When it rains you can smell the sewage plant, lots of late night shouting from randoms on the street. A very noisy road too, sirens a few times a day and loads of motorbikes ect. I've heard there's a red light district on the streets opposite. There's also fly tipping, weed ect. Parkings crap. Over the bridge there's a really nice park and across the road is a great bakery

Nice neighbourhood but definitely doesn't make up for the house/landlord. Has a mix of students and privately owned property

Average local neighbourhood. Nothing to say much about it. The state of the property was shocking from inside so topped that in terms of concerning issues.

Southampton neighbourhood. Right near McDonald’s. All in all fine area to live in no real problems.

The flat is located in ocean village, which is a really quiet and safe area, the marina is just behind which makes for a lovely walk, there are also restaurants and local amenities here too.

Ok’ish neighbourhood but very creepy at night as very dodgy people living in that area!

The only good side is the location, its close to the university and therefore the bus stop. Apart from that, its not close enough to the shops. The neighbourhood isn't nice at all, you won't feel safe walking down the street at night. If you own a car the street is completely inaccessible from the North or the West because of a river and the univeristy.

It's right next to uni and that's good. Bad rating in here is to compensate how bad of a landlord he is.

Neighbours were very nice. Area it’s self is very handily situated to uni and shops. Parking is easy enough.

Very close to shops, to university for me. Walking distance away from portswood where there’s loads of shops and transport methods. Good area
