Alright, lots of shops

On the edge of the Selly Oak so a lot safer and less busy too. It is quieter than most of selly oak as isn’t too close to the main road and the high street. A 5 minute walk to the university and 5 minute walk to the main high street and shops. Also a bus stop is next to the house so it is great for accessibility. Plenty of parking space outside on the road. Still some issues with crime here, two of my housemates had cars damaged or stolen during our two years there. But definitely a lot safer than other roads in selly oak. A nice park is also found at the top of the road.

Good for students

Close to the city centre. But right next to a main road, single glazed windows, a lot of noise at night from road and people turning out from clubs/bars

Nice green part of Reading, some busy roads though

Lovely and peaceful

Extremely noisy, pub across the street having karaoke and blasting music daily. Chicken shops attract yobs who destroy the bus shelter and litter, and climb the buildings and kick doors in.

Great student area and wouldn’t have wanted to live anywhere else but 2 people close to me had their cars stolen so didn’t feel the most safe.

Good access to GP, school and play ground

gets a bad rep but it’s nice but a bit dirty
