John Glare + Fiona Woolf (Glare) This landlord had no care for the living conditions or maintaining the property. When we moved in they claimed that the property had been professionally cleaned but it was in such a state it was clear this was not true. The house was falling to bits in every room, front to back. The house smelt strongly of mice. The landlord denies that this was their problem and blamed the tenants even though we had only just moved in and there was evidence of a severe mice infestation before we moved in. The landlord did not repair things properly. But instead a “quick fix” which would not last. The landlord also did not care for tenant safety as the property was very unsecure with locks not working and windows insecure.

brand vaughn Brighton was the agency. We complained to them about the maintained issues and they did not help with the situation. They did not chase the landlord to make these important maintained repairs nor did they come and check to see if they had been filled. We complained about the mice infestation we were seeing 10+ mice a day and nothing was done to get rid of them by the landlord. The property was unmaintanced and they did not care, the carpets were in such bad condition they were dangerous, the house was just awful. The agency should not be advertising a property in this condition because it was uninhabitable and the price they was charging for rent was completely unreasonable. They do not care about students living conditions and will only respond to you chasing rent payments

When I moved into this property it was in complete disarray. It was dingey, no light + smelt like ammonia, walls were falling to pieces it needed repainting, the bathroom was completely covered in black mould on every wall and ceiling, there was holes all over the house from an ongoing mouse infestation. We also found dead mice all over the house as well as living ones. The property was not cleaned prior to us moving in and there was lots of rubbish left from the previous tenants shoved under countertops and in cupboards. The garden was so overgrown it was just a large bush towering towards the house. The kitchen was dirty and had evidence of fire damage, and flooding. The house was so awful everything about it was unheigenic and not maintained. Immediately we had to complain there was endless problems with this house

Brighton is a great place to live but not in a central road like rose hill close. We had countless strange interactions with passers by and there would be lots of alcoholics and other people loitering outside our house. We had several people come onto the property and even people coming up to our doors and windows. I myself have been followed down the road and the alley at the end always has drug deals taking place. There would always be shouting outside and police called. I would not say this is a safe place to live
