In the heart of selly oak, everything is nearby! Less than 5 mins to walk on campus, 2 mins from aldi, 7 mins from Selly station, busstop is also 1 minute away, also have selly soak at the bottom of Dawlish road which is useful in winter months when nothing dries in the house. Lots of food options nearby too and pubs. Only thing is that the street can be quite loud on wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings/night.

Selly Oak, It was a student area which was shops. Very good location, close to Aldi and Tesco express and only 5 minutes for sainsbury's. Only 3 minutes to train station too.

Selly Oak, so loud and messy. Wednesday nights are the worst due to Sports Night. Good transport links, great selection of shops and restaurants. Close to the university.

Loud neighbour on one side - young children with a constantly screaming mother.

Refuse workers do not give you your bin back outside your house - you will have to go searching for it. Other houses rarely put their bins away.

Selly oak, abit far from campus but near the station

One of our neighbors had no problem, they are workers so spend most of the time out of the house. The other neighbors are quite problematic, we had to make many noise complaints to make them stop shouting and slamming doors.

Selly is a mixed bag but this area isn’t too bad. Can be noisy at night but being on the corner helps with neighbours. The bins sometimes don’t get taken and people will put their rubbish in, but otherwise it’s not too bad and v close to the Tesco.

Local area is what you expect for a university 2nd and 3rd year housing. Selly oak has everything you need

Good shops nearby (corner shops, tesco, Aldi, Selly shopping park), lots of things to do but often noisy

Good transport. Flooding is common in the front of my house. Lots of crime and not dealt with properly.

Selly Oak - the dream of all dreams. 10 minutes to uni and close to Bristol Road. The only good thing about this house.

Student area is exactly as you'd expect, but very close to the train station with frequent trains to the city centre.

Selly oak is selly oak but quieter end of road so not too much noise but still good distance to campus

It's Selly Oak, it's not great, but it's a good spot for a student. Close to campus and shops but far enough away to escape the noise, mostly.

Student area of Selly Oak is very close to the university of Birmingham (10 min walk) so perfect for getting to lectures. Aldi also very close by (5 min walk). Being a student area it can be quite load with parties going on nearby

Good transport links and near other students. Good distance from uni for the price!!!

Very very close to station, alright selection of shops. Student area, so neighbours are loud & there is often noise late into the night. Would Not recommend if not a student.

★★★★★★☆☆☆☆
Selly oak, but closer to uni and near main road which makes you feel safer. Only 6 mins to the uni gates, and 10 mins to everything you need. Good location, its what you pay for in your rent as house not worth it.
7 May 2019
★★★★★★★☆☆☆
Better part of Selly Oak as near main road and away from station. Still only 10 mins to walk literally anywhere you need.
7 May 2019
★★★★★★☆☆☆☆
Selly oak is not the best but suitable for students. Lots of reports of break ins and there is often rubbish lying about.
7 May 2019
★★★★★★☆☆☆☆
Well it’s Selly so it’s never going to be the nicest, safest place to live. But it’s around a 7 minute walk to Selly train station, around 5 minutes to UOB gym and only 2 minutes to Sainsbury's and Tesco garage so it’s very convenient!

★★★★★★☆☆☆☆
House is in Selly Oak. Near train station, pubs and the university. Easy to get everywhere.
7 May 2019
★★★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Its a student area so not recommended for families. Landlords charge extortionate amounts for tiny properties. Prone to break ins.

The property is situated in the student area of Selly Oak.
The property is right outside Selly Oak station so has really good transport links to Birmingham Newstreet. The property is also close to Bristol Road shops such as Aldi, Tesco’s, and Sainsbury’s. Although further away, the property is also convenient if you prefer to shop from Battery Retail Park.
The property is also close to pubs and bars on Bristol Road.
The property is also reasonably close to the University: 8 minutes to Grange Road Gate, 12 minutes to the Sports & Fitness Centre, 15-17 minutes to the Library.

Great location for Uni Station and Selly Oak. Not too far up Tiv so tends to walk up to at night.
7 May 2019
★★★★★★★★☆☆
Rookery road is a nice road, feels safe. Close to bristol road and shops. Close to uni and the gym also.

Area was nice enough, close to Bristol road and the shops. Close walk to busses and multiple shops
7 May 2019
★★★★★★★☆☆☆
The house is Very close to everything on Bristol Road and university, overall excellent location.

★★★★★★★★★★
The location is amazing, right opposite Aldi. You have to walk down an alley to get to the flat which looks dodgy but its just the back of Pepes, Pizza Land etc and they are all really friendly. Because its out the way, its a lot safer than all the houses on the main roads getting break ins etc.

★★★★★★★★☆☆
Can be noisy if you have a front bedroom and it's a Wednesday sports night, but otherwise fine. Short walk to all Bristol Road shops and amenities. We didn't directly witness as much crime as you might expect for Selly Oak.
6 May 2019
★★★★★★★☆☆☆
Residents in the area are predominantly students, with a few families. A fair few local amenities available on the high street (supermarkets, food outlets, pubs etc.)

Close ish to selly station and uni but dodgy area
About a 20 minute walk to uni
Lots of corner shops

selly oak. it is a dodgy area, lots of shops and takeaways nearby however which is good.

★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Area generally has lots to do, but not the safest and properties are often far away from the main road with poor street lighting
5 May 2019
★★★★★★☆☆☆☆
Selly Oak is quite dangerous with high levels of crime such as muggings, robberies, cars set on fire and harassment. Lots of easy public transport such as train station and bus routes. Lots in the neighbourhood such as pubs, bars, restaurants, stationary shops and supermarkets etc
4 May 2019
★★★★★★★☆☆☆
Area is very good for amenities such as shops, transport, university and sporting facilities. Safety in the area is questionable with a few disturbances arising from time to time.
4 May 2019
★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆
Unsafe because it’s in Selly Oak but not as bad crime wise as some of the other roads. 5 min walk from station and uni.

Love selly oak ! One of the best student hubs ever . Very unique to bham to have all the students in the same residential area and so close to one another .
3 May 2019
★★★★☆☆☆☆☆☆
Reasonably close to shops, very close to station, okay walk to uni (25 mins, although think was advertised as less)
3 May 2019
★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆
Selly Oak is a student area so is frequently targeted by crime and tends to be noisy occasionally. However this road is close to the University of Birmingham and only a short walk to the train station, without being near the loud and busy Bristol Road.
3 May 2019
★★★★★★★★☆☆
The property is very close (2 minute walk) to Selly Oak station as well as local bus services from Bristol Road. It is a 10 minute walk from UoB campus and close to a supermarket (ALDI) and other shops and services.

★★★★☆☆☆☆☆☆
Selly Oak has its own known issues with crime but transport links easy and the house is in the heart of selly far enough from Bristol road but not too far up
3 May 2019
★★★★★★★☆☆☆
It's Selly Oak so not amazing but Dawlish Road is pretty good - very wide and well lit so you feel very safe, the house is near to the train station and the shops so overall a good location.

Of course you have your bins kicked over on Wednesday night and get woken up by screaming at 4am on Satruday after Fab but that's what you expect from Selly Oak...
3 May 2019
★★★★★★☆☆☆☆
Neighbourhood as expected, Heeley is a main road. But front door and back all very secure.
3 May 2019
★★★★★★☆☆☆☆
Selly Oak is a unique place mainly for students, little traffic along the street and feel safe on Rookery.

★★★★★★★☆☆☆
Selly Oak is a great area for students, plenty of pubs and shops while very close to the University entrance

★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆
Fun if you're a student. Can get very noisy. Lots of shops but these are mostly takeaways.

★★★★★★★☆☆☆
The area isn't the nicest place in the world but that is expected of a student area. It is a good well lit road.
1 May 2019
★★★★★★★☆☆☆
Selly oak is very conveniently located for the university, had lots of eaterys and shops. Many bus routes and train stations are very close by so transport links are very easy. However it is not the safest area or cleanest area

★★★★★★☆☆☆☆
Selly Oak is a really good place to live as a UoB student, its convenient for the uni and has good places to eat and shops etc. High(ish)? crime so make sure to keep doors locked etc.
1 May 2019
★★★★★★☆☆☆☆
Top of Teignmouth so relatively quiet, never had bins pushed over etc, not loud at night. Off licence at top of road is great. Selly oak is still a bit grim though. Live a few doors down from Selly cat!

★★★★★★★☆☆☆
As far as Selly Oak goes, good location! Near the station and Aldi and only a 15 min walk to uni.
1 May 2019
★★★★★★★☆☆☆
Good area in terms of shops etc, although a lot of crime. Close to the university so ideal for students
1 May 2019
★★★★★★★☆☆☆
Selly Oak is a student hub which means sometimes it can be loud at night - but that is expected and would be hard to find a property that was secluded enough. 19 Lime Avenue is the perfect location - about a 10/15 min walk from campus and less than 5 minutes to Bristol Road - there is everything you need.
1 May 2019
★★★★★★☆☆☆☆
Neighbour at 9 is an absolute nightmare, they're a local family and have screaming matches at each other through all times of the night. Also have a dog called Lola who is rarely (potentially never) walked and is therefore barking constantly. Number 7/10 is a student house too which is quite nice, and the houses opposite I think are largely students too. It's a lot quieter being away from the road and not too far away from the high street as well, which is nice. Less than 10 mins into campus. If you have a car, parking can be really difficult as only one side of the street is able to be parked on, and the main road, Dawlish, has lots of little cul-de-sacs like Lime with 20 or so houses of people with cars.
1 May 2019
★★★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
It's a general student area and very noisy especially on Wednesday and Saturday nights, smashed glass is often left around, my car has had almost £2,000 worth of damage done to it since being parked here
1 May 2019
★★★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Selly Oak is a student area which has all the necessary transport links and amenities. However it is not a very safe area, and there is always rubbish strewn across the street.
1 May 2019
★★★★☆☆☆☆☆☆
Alley way off of one of the busier streets in Selly oak. Can be noisy at night but what is expected from a student town
1 May 2019
★★★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Heeley is really close to the train station which is a massive advantage, also close to a corner shop. It is however quite far from University.
1 May 2019
★★★★★★★★☆☆
Relatively safe but often dirty and noisy. Good for students with plenty of shops and cafes close by and really easy to get to uni.
1 May 2019
★★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Not a long walk to campus, and easy access to Selly Oak. However, is a dangerous neighbourhood at night, strangers trespass your garden at night as well, as the fences aren’t complete.
1 May 2019
★★★★★★☆☆☆☆
It's Selly Oak. There are amenities at the bottom of the road and we're a 4 minute stroll from the train station.
1 May 2019
★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆
Selly is generally fine. We’ve had no issues of break ins etc. Noise levels are also generally fine and had no issues with neighbours.

★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Student area with high crime rates, wouldn’t choose to live here if I wasn’t a student.
1 May 2019
★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆
Selly Oak is a student area, with quite a lot of rubbish around and reports of car theft/attempted burglary. However it has good transport links to the city centre (Selly Oak train station-10 minute journey to New Street), and is close to the university campus.

★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆
Student area so it’s all as expected. Road is well connected and close to university campus and smelly oak high street
30 April 2019
★★★★★★☆☆☆☆
Its Selly Oak, its not great but all your mates will live there so just take the crime on the chin. Stay safe and have a laugh
30 April 2019
★★★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
A bit dodgy
Selly Oak is a student area therefore petty crime can occur. However this street is relatively safe and would not perturb me from renting this property.

★★★★★★☆☆☆☆
Good student area but fairly unsafe feeling, lots of pubs and takeaways and quite a few shops
