Area was student area so not the best place but was safe and quiet enough. Free roadside parking.

Close* to the shopping park, which has a range of shops such as carpetright and shoezone. Not too far* from Aldi, or Sainsbury’s if you’re a snob. Unfortunately we didn’t get to experience the delights of Selly Oak, as our front door kept breaking and we were regularly trapped inside.

*I should stress that Heeley Road is approx 500 miles long, and this house is at the end. Rumour has it The Proclaimers based their hit song on this street.

Really close to lots of local shops, a really safe road as far as Selly Oak goes and a short walk to Selly Oak train station.

Very quiet. Stayed there for a year and never had any hassle from neighbours at all. Always somewhere to park though the street can be busy with cars.

There are good bus routes (45, 47, 61 and 63) into the city centre. There were shops next door and a short walk to a supermarket. Cannon Hill Park is a short walk away also.

Selly Oak is a very run-down, noisy and crime-riddled area. However the reason for the positive rating is due to the location to the uni, the range of shops around the area and most importantly, the sheer amount of students in the area. You are always close to your friends and peers and everyone is very supportive in the area.

I rented a property in Stirchley. It's lovely. My only complaint is that the supermarket isn't very good.

Walk to main campus was further than most of the houses but meant you were away from most of the issues of Selly Oak. Close to the retail parks and the OLRC as well as the free shuttle bus to the main campus.

The neighborhood was mostly quiet; you could find a mix of students and families. We had an instance of antisocial neighbours behaviour but it was no major issue. The house is very well connected to University, the Hospital, the train station and the Harborne High Street.
