We have rented from Candys for the past two years. At the beginning of our tenancy, the property was managed by Oakmans. They were terrible, hence the other review. Since then, Candys and Keith have been managing the properties again, and have both genuinely been amazing. They are some of the most generous people I have ever met, and Keith has been amazing with the maintenance. Literally, any problem is sorted within 24 hours, usually on the same day. After my previous landlords, Candys was genuinely a blessing of a landlady. I have never seen or heard of a student property owner be so kind and nice. She has even bought us beer fridges for the rooms, and offered to even bring us an additional one!

4 large and spacious rooms with a beautiful design. The property is in very good condition, and Candys also added additional insulation to the house which really helped keep bills low. During mid-winter, we were only putting the heating on for a total of 45 min - 1 hour a day, and I was still able to walk around the house in just a t-shirt and shorts.

495 harborne park road was just under 10 minutes to UoB campus, the train station, big Sainsburys, and about a 15 minute walk to Harborne high street and Selly Oak Bristol Road. There is a bus stop right opposite the house, which you can get into town using 'bus hop' (1 pound if you show your student id). Harborne is also a lot safer than Selly Oak (the other side of campus). Also, only a 2 minute walk away from Grove Park to enjoy good weather. The closest pub is Copper Fox, which is about a 10 min walk and was amazing Indian mixed grills and a really nice pub garden.
