Neighbourhood and local area reviews for renting in United Kingdom

On a noisy main road with a bus route, near selly Oak station, near post office and student area. Didn't always feel safe, on one occasion had to run home from the bus stop because of being chased and was warned the post office cashpoint nearby had been tampered with.

Neighbours were lovely, always willing to lend a hand when needed or stop for a chat. There’s an annual street party in summer and a facebook group to join.

The mosque across the road included a small shop that provided all the basics at good prices, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Parking during the mosque opening hours could get dicey though. At the other end of the street there’s a fab little café.

Downsides are that there’s a graveyard at the end of the road (which depending on your zombie preparedness levels could be offputting) and it’s about an hour’s walk to town.

Area is brilliant close to loads of amenities but can be loud due to the close proximity to the pubs and take away opposite. Current neighbour is a noisy and her so called friends threatened my 5 month old daughter. Current neighbour hasn't paid rent in months so no guarantee she will be hear when someone else moves in.

Quite far from uea, but close to nice pubs. Location does not make up for the poor quality of the house and the conduct of the landlords.

The neighbourhood is lovely, neighbours are nice and polite, rarely any issues in the area.

Very well located, in front of Asda in lower Bangor. Parking around the rear, these are the only positives about the property.

Loved living in Ranmoor, great links to shops and the neighbours were always friendly

Local area is good. Lots of transport links and in walking distance to the city centre.

There's several pubs within a 5 minute walk, co-op 30 seconds away and various other shops and takeaways around. Very good bus links to town and both unis.

Good area, close to the park, university/train station, Harborne high street and local buses.
