Our landlord was generally very aloof, sending the occasional workman to fix a problem, but always the cheapest person he could find, who would inevitably do a worse job than we could've. Once the apartment above us had a leak and he sent someone to literally paint over the damp, and not even in the same colour! When we moved out we filled and sanded any holes and repainted, but he still tried to sting us with a big redecoration bill, and said we owed rent arrears despite us rejecting his bid to raise the price - when we cancelled our official dispute over the matter because we were leaving, he immediately claimed he was owed the increase.

Property review for 67 Cathedral Road, Pontcanna, Cardiff

The flat was compact but relatively together, with some nice features like stained-glass windows and an open-plan kitchen/living-room. Mould grows very easily in the bedroom area however, and it's very difficult to ventilate. We also had a rat problem which required us to seal the area under the bath and around the toilet, despite this we could hear them in the walls. We mentioned that the apartment appeared to have holes in the plaster underneath it, which we think is how they were getting in and out of the property, but they were never repaired/sealed.

The area of Pontcanna in Cardiff is beautiful - it's right next to a giant park and the local cafes and businesses are teeming with activity, all the way from a microbrewery to a tiny music venue that does jazz nights, there's something for anyone.
