Landlord review for Steven Woodcock, Rochdale
Landlord rating: 10
Steven is a great landlord, really easy to deal with, and was very understanding of our circumstances and requirements, given that we were 2 mature students, with a border collie! He couldn't have been more accommodating, and throughout our tenancy, any issues or faults were promptly attended to and repaired/rectified. Steven clearly holds this property in high regard, it having previously been his family home, and he has redecorated/renovated it to a very high standard. He is friendly, reliable, and was more than happy to provide us with a glowing reference when we moved on. I am very happy to recommend him as a first class private landlord.

Property review for 91 Wood Street, Longwood, Huddersfield
Property rating: 10
This one-bedroomed gem looked small on paper but was perfect for us (2 people and 1 dog), so well proportioned, and finished to a really high standard.
The kitchen, whilst small, was actually the most practical space I have ever prepared a meal in! Everything at hand, cupboards (made from reclaimed wood) at perfect height, and work surfaces well laid out.
Originally a 2 bedroomed house, they were knocked though into one light and airy, dual-aspect space. Me and my partner were both studying as mature students when we lived here, and this space was perfect for 2 small desks at one end of the room, and a double bed and wardrobe at the other. Lovely views from both front and back windows. The property features wonderful double glazed sash windows, retaining the original feel of the house, yet still providing fabulous insulation. We also noticed that our heating bills were very low, thanks to the air-tightness of the whole property.
The yard was lovely, and although wasn't practically accessible from the rear, this lead to a sense of security and seclusion - a perfect place to sit and enjoy the evening sunshine.
It is a property with lots of original charm and features, and in hindsight, we should maybe have stayed longer. The property is a credit to the care and attention from the landlord, who clearly cherishes the house.

Area review for Longwood, Huddersfield
Area rating: 9
Longwood is a small suburban part of Huddersfield, and lies to the west of the town, and is very close to the stunning Colne Valley area. As such, there are numerous country walks within walking distance of the property. The area is very quiet considering it is close to a town. We often felt we were living in the countryside. The street itself is a little known narrow lane, and as such, the only traffic tends to be other residents accessing their properties. The immediate neighbours were all very friendly and helpful, and I got the feeling they everyone looked out for each other.
Amenities: an award winning fish and chip shop was a short walk away, along with plenty of bus stops into the town, and a handy Co-Op convenience store. Doorstep delivered milk was also available from the local milkman. Broadband speeds were good, and there was space for one car (on street parking) at the front of the house.
