Landlord rating
He was quite friendly. While he would do necessary things like the boiler safety check, so many large repairs were outstanding including lots of damp.
This was one of the reasons we looked for somewhere else to live. He told us he couldn't afford to get some of the issues fixed and we're waiting a long time for repairs to be done. Lots still hadn't been done by the time we left.

It's a great location if you like being in the middle of everything.
It could be a lovely house but it has lots of structural issues.
We realised shortly after moving in that rising damp and ingress damp had been patched over. This is now really bad and the landlord has already told us that he plans to just patch it up again, rather than fixing it properly.
We've been waiting for a roofer since August last year but they haven't come yet (it's now March). The kitchen ceiling looks about ready to collapse in and water has run into the walls, blowing the plug sockets. The fuse box needs replacing as this didn't trip when the plug exploded. Lots of electrical fittings are broken and the house needs maintenance.

Area rating
It's in the middle of everything, pubs, shops, seafront, city centre.
However, that means it's noisy and expensive. There is an HMO next door, and the students often party in the garden late at night. Next to that is a building site which will be being worked in for about another 12 months.
